Second, you can become a our Featured Member by adding a badge to your own website, MySpace, Facebook or any other social media site. Being a Featured Member gives you front page exposure, elevates your ranking within the site, and makes it much more easier to promote your business & gain new friends. Click here for instructions on how to add a badge to your site. After you add the badge be sure to send me a message or post a comment on my profile page with a link/URL to your website with the badge. You will then be elevated to featured member status shortly.
Third, I recommend reading The Top 10 Tips to Promoting Your Business on Ning Sites. This short article details how you can earn points for activities like posting blogs, discussions & adding friends. Earning points gains you exposure across the network helping you find new customers and friends.
Finally, I remind you that you can adjust all privacy settings by clicking the Settings link available on the top right of each page. Here you can control who can see your profile & post on your Comments Wall among other things. You also have the option to control messages (presently the only people who can send you private messages are members you have added as friends). This is all part of our vigilant effort to ensure the network is 100% spam free. We appreciate everyone is here to learn & share but please note this site has zero tolerance for spam. To avoid the spam label, we recommend you make "value-add" contributions which offer tips & advice as well as promote your business (for example, if you own a graphic design business, add content that make suggestions about producing great graphics as well as promoting your business). Also keep in mind other members are 10x more likely to click a link if it's within this website so be sure to use blogs, discussion forums & comments within the network to promote your business. Gratuitous messages simply promoting a business and not making a "value-add" contribution (real tips, advice - not just sales pitches) will be deleted and/or membership suspended.
